Disconnect the negative terminal from your DSM's battery before you install the turbo timer. To do so, loosen the clamp on the black terminal of the battery in the engine compartment, then remove it from the metal battery terminal. This ensures user safety as well as eliminates the risk of device shortage during installation.

#2
Remove the plastic covers of the DSM's steering column and center console by removing the three Phillips head screws on the cover's underside, then lifting the entire plastic cover free. To remove the center console cover, unfasten the plastic clips along its underside. Once unfastened, pull up on the black cup holder assembly.

#3
Unplug the stock ignition harness. This is the blue cable beneath the steering column cover leading into the ignition slot. Midway up the cable is a plug that can be separated, allowing the turbo timer wiring harness to be connected in between. Once connected to the vehicle's ignition harness, plug the turbo timer harness into the rear of the turbo timer unit. Secure excess wire out of the way with electrical tape.

#4
Run the black ground wire from the turbo timer harness to a ground source. A convenient place on DSM cars is any of the chassis screws easily accessible from the steering column. To ground the wire, wrap it around the neck of the screw and secure it with electrical tape.

#5
Route the parking brake wire from the turbo timer harness through the dash to the center console area. Splice it into the parking brake switch. To do so, strip approximately 5 mm of the parking brake switch wire with strippers, then wrap the turbo timer's parking brake wire around the exposed wire of the parking brake switch. Spice the connection with the wire crimpers supplied in your turbo timer kit.

#6
Tuck away all excess wires into the dash area and secure with electrical tape. Replace the center console cover and steering column cover. Secure your turbo timer unit into its desired location with the double-sided tape from the turbo timer kit. Replace the negative battery terminal cable, then start your DSM to ensure the turbo timer operates properly.
